At this current moment in time, the next event on my racing calendar is Hood to Coast! While I anticipate that something will pop up to fill the wide-open gap in my schedule between now and then, I’m getting excited thinking about it!! And it’s coming up quick too! 59 days to go!!
Hood to Coast (HTC) is one of my favorite events but this year is extra special because I am a member of one of two teams sponsored by Nuun Hydration! I’m so honored to have been invited to be on the team, made up entirely of Nuun Ambassadors. (If you haven’t seen my ambassador profile, you can check it out here!)
It has been so fun to get to know my teammates. We are spread out all over the country and while we’ve interacted online, I’m looking forward to meeting everyone in person when we all arrive at Nuun HQ in Seattle a couple of days before we make our way to Mt. Hood. (I actually got to meet on of my teammates a few months ago when he invited me to run Ragnar Trail Zion. It will be fun to see him again!!)
Since I’m kind of between events and don’t have anything I’m actively training for my main focus is staying in shape. I tend to get a little antsy when I don’t have something I’m training for. Last week, following the Vancouver USA Marathon, I was weighing the options about whether or not I wanted to cut back a little bit, until about mid-July, or dive right back in and perhaps get in another marathon before September. Honestly, I still don’t know. I’ve got a couple of grumpy spots that decided to flare up this week so I’m on the fence at the moment. (I haven’t even been able to talk myself into going for a run this morning! UGG.)
I’m looking forward to a busy fall racing season and in the meantime, adding some other activities into the mix… more hiking, trail running, yoga, hooping… and maybe I’ll get on that bike a bit more!
As HTC gets a bit closer, I’ll share more details about my training, my teammates, my legs, etc., so stay tuned. Oh, and if you are in need of some Nuun, they are offering free shipping now through Sunday, June 29th!
