Though it isn’t reflected in my mileage recap, because of the way my training days fall, in the 7-day period Sunday-Saturday I ran 54.75 miles last week. I had to rearrange my training over the weekend because of a family event. I knew there was no way I was going to get up Sunday to do my long run after a night of shenanigans, which continued on into Sunday. Instead I moved it to Saturday and broke it into two runs. The first 13 miles solo and the remaining five with my running club. I was so grateful for the company those last few miles!
Since I took yesterday off, I started the week off with a short run this morning. It’s crunch time with Hood to Coast now less than two weeks away! Coming up this week: daily doubles, mid-day runs in the heat of the day (except today because it is 98 degrees currently and I ain’t that crazy!), a little more speed work, some serious hydration, and lots of clean eats.
Oh, on top of that, a few fellow Nuun ambassadors on my team challenged the group to a core workout challenge for the 10 days leading up to our arrival at Nuun HQ next week. I was supposed to start yesterday… but pushed it to today due to aforementioned weekend shenanigans. Who knew that 12 minutes of planks and jumping jacks could be so dang challenging? ; )
