My mileage dropped a little last week but for good reason. A couple of those runs were with a fantastic group of girls in elementary school. Once again, I ran a 5K along side a 4th grade student as a mobile cheerleader for our Run Girl Run program. I also sub coached last Tuesday and ran their training route with them. Such a fantastic program and I’m so grateful for the ability to participate! Seriously, if you ever have an opportunity to volunteer with a program that mentors and encourages youth running, you will not regret a single second!

Despite low mileage, I got a few quick ones in! Three days in a row I ran mid-7:00 minute miles!!

I decided today that I’m going for some big mileage this week. I need to run off some stuff. It’s how I cope.

On a more fun note, I received notification a couple of days ago that Running on Healthy nominated me for a Liebster Award!! In the blogging realm, there are a few awards, or recognition’s, that are given to bloggers from fellow bloggers. It is an honor to know that my website has influenced and inspired others and I am grateful to know I’ve done just that. Especially since my posts have been so sporadic as of late.

It was a rough start for me today (… early morning… weekend hangover… a day of meetings and training (and not the running kind of training)… is it Friday yet??) but I’m hopeful that each day will improve and I hope your week is great!!

  1. I love that you got the chance to work with the girl’s running program. I think those are such a huge asset to the running community. And those are the reasons why you deserve a MAJOR award 😉
