When I shared my weekly mileage recap last week, I also shared my intention for getting in some higher mileage. Originally, I thought I would shoot for 60 miles. I’ve never run that many. I’d have to look but I believe my highest mileage week ever was around 55 miles. Anyway, my goal got a little derailed due to nasty weather. We had a crazy wind storm Thursday afternoon. I tried to run in it but less than half a mile from home I turned back. The gusts were so strong… it became a bit frightening so I decided to play it safe.

The next best thing was 50 miles. It’s still more than I’ve done in a long time and considering what I accomplished was over the span of only 5 days (not counting the short run in the wind), I’m feeling pretty good about it!

I don’t foresee this week being anywhere near 50 miles with the seasonal busyness that has started to take over. But I’m only 27 miles away from my goal for the year and I’m looking forward to knocking that out of the park this week!

Happy Monday!

  1. 50 miles is pretty awesome! Especially this time of the year. Congrats at great work! 50 is around my high mileage mark. I once did 72 miles when my husband and I were in Aruba but we were just so happy to be in warm weather during the winter and you can only sit on the beach for so long. I think if I did that for more than a week I would end up injured!
