The transition from 2015 to 2016 was anti-climatic in terms of training. The weather has created some challenging running conditions as we’ve been plagued with snow, sleet, freezing rain, and ice. Instead of jumping into some grand training program like so many others are doing (Hello! Boston training!) I’m sitting here like “now what?” wondering what in the heck I’m going to do with myself.
In my post yesterday, I mentioned that I want to transition to more trail running this year. More 5k’s too. But so far, I’m not committed to anything. If you’re anything like me, I manifest a lot of motivation from having an upcoming event on my calendar! There are other reasons, which I’ll save for another day, but in the interim, it’s best I’m not committed to anything.
So it’s a slow start. I’m trying to be okay with it. I’m aiming to maintain my mileage the best I can despite the winter wonderland outside. (Which I totally love, btw!) And considering I’m currently in my pajama’s, drinking tea, on a Monday morning at 11:00 because I couldn’t drive to work and school was cancelled, it’s really not that bad!
